Poetry + Film / Hack presents both artforms in collaboration, by adding live poetry readings to the viewing experience of splendid films. We choose movies that are socially, politically or culturally resonant and by including poetry in their presentation, expand, deepen or highlight their theme.
To bring a little lightness to our current difficult days, P+F/H presents Clueless! The classic 90’s sitcom about a wealthy meddling Berverly Hills high school student Cher, who gets more than she bargains for when she gives a fashion-challenged student a makeover.
We will watch the film together on Netflix Party* then jump to Zoom immediately after. There the incredible poets Nii Aykiwei Parkes, Rebecca Tamás, Zia Ahmed, Sean Mahoney, Ella Frears and Michelle Tiwo will be waiting to share their responses to the film’s themes of privilege, power, sisterhood and friendship.
