I’m heading up to Scotland where poetry is everywhere, in song lyrics, in overheard conversations, in the way we tell stories. That’s what Push The Boat Out is all about. Words, how we use them, and what they mean to us. From poetry readings and discussions, to new commissions, music hybrid events, dance and hip hop, film screenings, beach walks, panels and workshops – this vibrant, multi-layered, line-up is hopping over three epic days, 24th – 26th November, throughout Edinburgh’s iconic Summerhall. I’m taking part in two events; The first is The Song Writer’s Circle - where for the first time in public, I will be talking about a libretto, the opera I have been working on for a few years, and the second is a Search Party - my interactive poetry performance event - which will close out the festival. Will you be in town? Know anyone who will? Swing by…
