Apples and Snakes are celebrating 35 years as poetry pioneers in 2018 and as part of that celebration there is a touring exhibition charting our spoken word activities through the past 3 decades and a half.
On Sunday 8th April between 4pm and 7pm there will be a celebratory gathering with drinks and nibbles and a few poetry performances.
Young poets from Newtown YMCA, Southampton, will be sharing work inspired by the exhibition, I will be performing, as will be Helen Seymour, plus more tbc. Come along, meet other poets and people interested in spoken word from throughout the region, have a chat, have a listen, join us in marking this anniversary.
Helen Seymour
Helen describes herself as a spoken-poet-word-artist-human-performance-person who hails from Canterbury. She is currently touring her first spoken word solo show called To Helen Back in which she is a burglar who breaks into a surreal hospital and discovers the bizarre, the bemusing and the badger.
