A rehearsed reading - the first public sharing - of a brand new play. I’ve been working on this off and on for the last 4years and I am nervous about sharing it with an audience. Directed by the powerhouse that is Lynette Linton, head-honcho at the legendary Bush Theatre, A Block of Flats is set in London. On one ordinary night, the universal forces of chaos and order materialise on Earth and task five deeply flawed folks with deciding the fate of humanity.
It is an imaginative exploration of climate change, kindness and empathy in the present day. The script is typical me: lyrical, mellifluous, playful, yet deeply emotive and disarming, and the story asks the most pressing questions of our times. I hope you’ll leave wanting to find answers.
