And wrapping up 05Fest is The Rhythm and Poetry Party, at the venue in which it started 11 years ago. In all that time, nothing’s changed: The RAP Party is a nostalgic, no-clutter, no-fuss, night of hip-hop-inspired poems and favourite hip-hop songs. The format is simple: 10 writers share poems that engage any aspect of hip hop culture, and after each poet, the Dj plays two songs of the poet’s choosing. And after that, we dance.

The line up is wild again: award winning poetry professors, visual artists, actors, film directors, D.O.P, curators and actors: Hasti, Julian Knoxx, Carmina Masoliver, Gboyega Odubanjo, Jess Murrain, Jolade Olusanya, Laurie Ogden, Jack Underwood, Rhondda Rhiannon, myself, with the ebullient Dj Alex Session on decks.
